The New CarMax Park represents a major investment in the future of athletic and community recreation in the Richmond region. Designed as a premier multi-field sports complex, the project will feature synthetic turf fields, upgraded spectator amenities, modern support facilities, and enhanced site infrastructure to accommodate year-round programming. Once complete, the park will serve as a regional hub for youth sports, community events, and athletic development – supporting both local families and visiting teams from across the state.
Gilbane is leading construction efforts as the project’s construction manager, overseeing coordination, site development, and execution from start to finish. Their team is focused on delivering a high-quality, durable, and community-centered facility that aligns with the client’s goals for accessibility, safety, and long-term performance.
PPE Required: All attendees must wear a hard hat, safety boots, safety glasses, and gloves in accordance with Gilbane safety standards. Please dress for outdoor conditions; the tour will primarily take place outside.
Following the tour, members are welcome to join us for a casual networking opportunity at Toast across the street.

YOUNG PROFESSIONALS: VCU COSTAR CENTER FOR ARTS AND INNOVATION HARD HAT TOUR WITH HOURIGAN

Hourigan’s CoStar Center for Arts & Innovation is a groundbreaking project set to redefine the educational landscape in Richmond, Virginia. Spanning seven stories and encompassing 209,000 square feet, this visionary endeavor seeks to consolidate Virginia Commonwealth University’s (VCU) arts and innovation programs under one roof. VCU aims to create a dynamic environment where creativity flourishes, interdisciplinary collaboration thrives, and students are equipped with the skills to tackle the world’s toughest challenges. The primary goal of the project is to provide state-of-the-art facilities, including hybrid classroom-laboratories, performance venues, and makerspaces, while fostering a culture of flexibility and sustainability. Hourigan, serving as the construction manager, plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless execution of the project from inception to completion. Our scope of work encompasses comprehensive project management, coordination, and execution, with a focus on delivering excellence and meeting the client’s vision for the CoStar Center.
