Join us for Bring Your Interns to Network, an event designed to connect young professionals and summer interns with industry peers, mentors, and leaders. We encourage companies and current young professionals to invite interns from their office and introduce them to the value of getting involved early in their careers, meet peers, and gain industry insight.

The evening will feature a special guest speaker discussing the importance of networking early in your career, how to build lasting professional relationships, and ways to stand out as a young professional entering the workforce. Starting to build your network early can shape your career trajectory, opening doors to future opportunities, mentorships, and professional growth. The discussion will also highlight how utilizing your company’s membership with ABC can create long-term value once transitioning into a full-time role.

Whether you are just starting your internship, beginning your career, or mentoring the next generation in your office, this event is a great opportunity to see firsthand how beneficial involvement can be. From meaningful learning topics to building a strong professional network, attendees will leave with new connections and a better understanding of the impact professional engagement can have on their careers.

Thursday, May 21, 2026  |  3:00PM – 5:00PM
The Sampson Paint project is a transformative mixed-use redevelopment along Hull Street in Richmond, Virginia. Formerly the Sampson Paint Building, the project will deliver 211 apartment units along with a nearly 200-space parking garage, lobby, fitness area, and clubhouse amenities. This adaptive reuse project reimagines a historic industrial site into a vibrant residential and community-focused development, contributing to continued growth and revitalization of the surrounding area.

W.M. Jordan Company, our tour host, is providing Construction Management At-Risk services and overseeing coordination, site development, and execution throughout the project lifecycle. Their team is focused on delivering a high-quality, durable project that prioritizes safety, efficiency, and long-term performance.

PPE Required: All attendees must wear a hard hat, safety vest, construction boots, and safety glasses. Please dress appropriately for outdoor conditions, as portions of the tour may take place outside.

Following the tour, attendees are welcome to continue the conversation with a casual networking opportunity at Benchtop Brewing.

Get ready for an evening where teamwork, friendly competition, and a little creative problem-solving take center stage! This Young Professionals event brings us together for a series of fast-paced challenges designed to test your safety knowledge, communication skills, and ability to think on your feet.

You and your team will rotate through interactive activities that mirror real-world construction scenarios with a fun twist. You’ll put your eye for detail to the test during a safety focused hazard hunt, race against the clock in a blueprint relay, and think fast in a punch list speed round where accuracy and efficiency matter. The competition wraps up with a hands-on build challenge as teams collaborate to construct the tallest tower possible.

Between challenges, connect with peers as teams rack up points and bragging rights. After the activities, join us next door at The Brass Tap for continued networking and drinks.

Put your knowledge to the test and join the Young Professional group for a night of Construction Trivia Night at Buskey Cider! This fun and competitive evening will feature trivia questions spanning construction facts, industry know-how, and Richmond’s must knows. Whether you’re a jobsite pro or a local history buff, there’s something for everyone.

Your ticket includes two drink tickets and light snacks. Teams will be paired together randomly to create an optimal networking environment and to keep the playing field fair. Let the brain-building begin!
