OSHA 2264 - PERMIT-REQUIRED CONFINED SPACE ENTRY This is a Chesapeake Region Safety Council course - REGISTER HERE Offered by Mid Atlantic OTI Education Center, this course will be held at ABC-VA Northern Virginia Training Facility, Host Training Organization July 13 - 15, 2026 | 8:00AM - 4:00PM This course covers the safety and health hazards associated with permit-required confined space entry. Course topics include recognition of confined space hazards, identification of permit and non-permit required confined spaces, use of instrumentation to evaluate atmospheric hazards, ventilation techniques, development and implementation of a confined space program, proper signage, and training requirements. This course features workshops on permit entry classification, instrumentation, and program development. Upon course completion students will have the ability to identify permit and non-permit required confined spaces, reference the OSHA Permit-Required Confined Spaces Standard, conduct atmospheric testing, and implement a permit-required confined space program. CONFINED SPACE TRAINER COURSE This is a Chesapeake Region Safety Council course – REGISTER HERE July 16, 2026 | 8:00AM - 4:00PM This Trainer Course in Permit-Required Confined Spaces is recommended for inspectors, auditors, safety and health professionals and those personnel responsible for writing, auditing, or training employees with an active role in permit space entry. This course was developed and designed to educate participants to train about all aspects of 29 CFR 1910.146. Prerequisite: In order to attend this course you must have completed the OSHA 2264 PERMIT-REQUIRED CONFINED SPACE ENTRY course within the last 12 months and provide the CRSC with a copy of your course completion certificate. Objective – this program provides the elements to develop a good Confined Spaces Training Program to include: Determine Confined Spaces training needs Identify goals and objectives Develop learning activities (i.e., lecture, on-the-job, hands-on, discussion, or a combination of all of these) Conduct the training – each student will be responsible to develop and present an assigned topic on Confined Spaces to the class and be evaluated on that presentation. The course updates the OSHA Maritime standards, policies, and regulations. Upon course completion students will have the ability to demonstrate continued professional development in their field by applying effective adult learning principles and interactive training techniques to clearly identify, define and explain maritime industry hazards and acceptable corrective measures as they continue to teach the 10- and 30-hour Outreach Training Program classes.
