Conference Held February 19, 2009 Marriott Fair Oaks

Event Flyer

Summary:

This program was designed to provide real world understanding and guidance on how to get into the federal market. Throughout the day, guest speakers coached companies on how to do business in the federal environment. Included in the day was an information booth area with businesses currently supporting the federal markets, including bonding agents, banks, larger construction companies, etc.

The morning sessions, led by SBA and SCORE,  focused on how best to set up and focus on the federal construction market. Bill Sweetser, a man who built a successful federal focused construction company sharing the key strategy behind this successful focus, was a key note presenter over lunch. The afternoon sessions had key contacts from Naval Facilities Command (NAVFAC) and the Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) presentation on how to do business with their specific organizations.

A contractor discussion panel we held as well, allowing insight into how best to look at the federal constriction market.
